I received a call like this on Friday 25th April - late afternoon - A woman advised my internet wold be disconnected with 24 hours because of problems associated with my internet service - they could not confirm any account details -

It is a scam, they introduce themselves they are calling from a division of Telstra technical support, they give you a dud employee ID and phone number to call them back in case your call drops out with them... however it's a scam!!! HANG UP ON THEM STRAIGHT AWAY! They tell you to turn on your PC for them to log on remotely because your computer has been hacked into and that they will clean it up for you, then they log onto your banking details and make transfers and charges to your credit cards... Do NOT trust them just hang up!

A woman who says she is with telstrar gave me this number for tech assistance. They say me internet connection is going to be disconnected but can give me no details about my connection nor which company supplies the connection. I wish to make sure that this no. is in fact telstra.
